Abby Harris of Simsbury, passed away on December 29, 2022, just one day shy of her 20th birthday.
Words are incapable of expressing the grace, beauty, and wisdom Abby brought to our world. Abby brought a spirit of light, love, and clarity to everything she did and everyone she met, whether it was laughing with her cousins and friends, gliding across the ice with her Northern Lights teammates, or singing a sweet, soulful soprano at First Church of Simsbury or the Simsbury High School Choir.
Abby, who is proud of her history from the Pacific Islands and was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, traveled with her parents first to Berkeley, California, and then to New Britain, where her father was the pastor of South Church. Her family relocated to Simsbury seven years ago, and Abby attended Simsbury High School.
On January 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., a memorial service will be conducted at First Church of Simsbury, 689 Hopmeadow Street. Following is a reception in the church fellowship hall. Donations to First Church of Simsbury, with Abby Harris’ name in the memo line, may be donated in lieu of flowers. A hockey scholarship fund in honor of Abby Harris will be started by First Church.
