Mexican soap and theatre actress Helen Rojo has passed away at the age of 79 after being diagnosed with liver cancer. Fans took to social media to pay tribute to the late star, who passed away at her home in Mexico City. She left behind her husband Benjamín Fernández. Journalist María Luisa Valdés Doria confirmed her death on February 3.
Rojo was one of the most successful actresses on Mexican TV but started her extensive career as a model during the sixties. She was recognized for her work by numerous awards, including the Ariel Awards for Best Actress. Her film debut in 1970 on The Suicide Club was when she played Luciana Duval in “El Privilegio de Amar” or The Privilege of Love. In 2006, she appeared in Vidas de Fuego, which was featured on the comedy drama series Ugly Betty.
