She is the daughter of Andreas Popp her father and Iris Popp her mother. She is currently 31 years old and was born on the 6th of April 1991 in Witten, Germany. She holds the nationality of German.

She stands at a height of 5 feet and 9 inches tall and weighs 55 kg. She has brown hair and brown eyes colour.

She attended Gesamtschule Berger Feld in Gelsenkirchen, one of four facilities certified as “elite schools of football” by the German Football Association. She was the school’s sole female pupil and could only attend courtesy of a special permit. She studied and trained with junior players of the German men’s Bundesliga side FC Schalke 04.

She left school after the 12th grade with a Fachabitur diploma. Following a one-year internship as a physiotherapist, Popp completed a three-year apprenticeship to become a zookeeper at Tierpark Essehof in Lehre.

In an interview, she declared herself a fan of Borussia Dortmund.
