Unexpectedly, hockey player Brian Renaud from Pickering, Ontario, passed away.

A post that was shared online revealed the news of the deceased.

I never in a million years thought I would find myself in this situation. Simply put, I can no longer chat or communicate with everyone, thus this is the most realistic course of action. There is currently no longer any chance of us being saved.

Our hearts feel as though they have been broken into a million pieces. The sad news is that Brian, a great friend of ours, has died. The incredibleness of it is beyond description. 17 is still way too young. We will greatly miss him because he was the most significant person in our life. I have no idea what to say. Prayers, thoughts, energies, and any other way you can think of to remember him should all include him. It means the world to me that he experiences love from everyone.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the deceased’s family and friends, who have been struggling with the loss of such an intelligent and compassionate individual.
