Born on July 15, 1963, Nielsen started out with modelling for Greg Gorman and Helmut Newton in the 80s.

She graced a number of magazine covers and even modelled for Marvel Comics as the comic book character She-Hulk.

Nielsen made her acting debut in 1985, with the fantasy film Red Sonja in which she acted alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.
