On July 15, 2023, Cameron Olson of Morristown, New Jersey, who was 26 years old, tragically passed away. This loss has stunned and grieved our family. Kristen and Royal Olson welcomed Cameron into the world on July 31, 1996 in Murray Hill, New Jersey. Parents Royal and Kristen, brother Nolan, and other members of Cameron’s family are left behind.
In his brief existence on earth, Cameron had such a profound impact. From the age of six, he participated in Spectrum 360, a program for young people and adults with intellectual disabilities. He constantly greeted the staff, teachers, and students with a broad smile and his distinctive peace sign. He owes a lot of his excellent personality to Spectrum 360.
Cameron’s second community in the Pennsylvania-based Paradise Falls Lutheran Association (PFLA) had a special role in his life. Always seen strolling the grounds, mingling on the beach, “working” in the tearoom, and waving to guests as they arrived or went for the weekend was our gentle giant. He was always accepted for who he was by this lovely community, which treated him as if he were their own son. The neighborhood of Paradise Falls was the one that stood by him in the catastrophe that took his life. Soon, Cameron’s ashes will become an indelible part of the memorial garden in the PFLA neighborhood.
Bermuda was a place that Cameron frequently traveled to. Many of the taxi drivers became close friends with Cameron, and they would appreciate and enjoy having him along as the co-pilot on travels around this lovely island. They would also honk at him when he waved at them in friendship while walking around town. For Cameron, this was a magical place where he developed enduring bonds.

On Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Cameron’s visitation and service will be held at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge NJ, 07920. At the funeral home, there will be a funeral service at 1:30. On July 29, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., a special service will be held for the people of Paradise Falls.
