Tanya Lapointe is a filmmaker and the wife of Denis Villeneuve a highly acclaimed Canadian film director. The couple began dating in 2010.

Tanya Lapointe is best known for her documentary film The Paper Man (Lafortune en papier), which was released in 2020.

She began dating film director Denis Villeneuve in the mid-2010s, after working as an arts and culture journalist for Ici Radio-Canada.

She left the network in 2015 to work as a production assistant on Villeneuve’s film Arrival and announced her retirement from journalism in 2016.

Tanya Lapointe’s documentary debut, 50/50, was broadcast by Radio-Canada in 2018 and examined the gender gap in society. The Paper Man had its world premiere at the Whistler Film Festival in 2020, where it received the Audience Award.

Tanya Lapointe advocated for Melchior Mbonimpa’s novel Le Totem des Baranda in the 2021 edition of Le Combat des Livres.
