I practice at South Texas Eye Centers along with my two partners. In our comprehensive ophthalmology practice, our mission is to provide compassionate, affordable and quality eye care to the people of the Rio Grande Valley. We are sensitive to the special cultural and language needs of a diverse population with limited financial resources.
I enjoy teaching medical students and mentoring undergrads. I am affiliated with the medical school at University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley. I also collaborate with the epidemiological and clinical research unit of School of Public Health, University of Texas-Houston, located in Brownsville, Texas.
Beyond my day job, I like to volunteer with SEE International, doing cataract surgery missions all over the world. I have worked in Africa, Asia, South & Central America and the Pacific islands. My goal is to provide eye care to underserved people, train and support ophthalmologists in developing nations to improve global eye care.
