Firefighter Jon Webb of the Hurst Fire Department died on Christmas Eve at his home, the department said in a press release on Tuesday.

“You will never meet a more well-versed firefighter than Firefighter Webb. His enthusiasm for the position and his desire to help others far above his skill level “David Palla, Chief of the Fire Department, commented. We’re thinking of his family and holding them close as they go through this tragic loss.

Webb spent 10 years as an active member of the Hurst Fire Department. His wife and two stepsons will go on after him. Preparations for the funeral are currently underway.

Firefighter Jon Webb was a volunteer with the HVFD from 2004-2008 and was currently with the Hurst Fire Department.
