I write this with a very heavy heart. Our beloved Andy Persaud, age 26 was in a critical accident on Thursday morning Jan 5th 2023.

It was what we all thought a normal Thursday morning….Andy left home around 1:30am like he always does to go to work as a truck driver.

That morning Andy was the driver of the pickup F-150 that was fetching a Uhaul trailer.

Tragically, another truck driver driving a tractor trailer fell asleep and knocked Andy’s vehicle off the road into a ditch on highway 401 in Canada.

Andy was rushed to Kingston General Hospital where he was discovered to have suffered from cardiac arrest and lack of oxygen to his brain causing brain damage. Andy fought hard for 6 long days on life support but his heart could not take it anymore. Sadly he died on January 10th 2023 around 2:30pm. Lord Krishna had other plans for his soldier.
Andy was surrounded by his wife, his parents and many loved ones throughout his time in the hospital.
Andy was a strong, joyful person who impacted the lives of everyone he touched. His purpose was to bring joy and happiness with his every presence. He was the life of the party, the light in every room and the dancer of all occasions.

Andy leaves behind his beautiful wife Shivanie age 27. Andy and Shivanie were neighbors in East Bank Guyana.

Their love story started at the age of 6 and 7 when they would run around as toddlers saying they would get married. ….. in 2018 they tied the knot!
Andy was the only breadwinner of the family.

His widow is now left behind to fend for herself. Andy’s parents would like to send Andy’s body back home to Guyana (Diamond New Scheme) since this was Andy’s hearts desire whenever he died he wanted his funeral to be in Guyana not knowing this wish would come so soon.

If you can find it in your heart to assist this family in anyway during this trying time, it will be greatly appreciated.
