Jacob Escobedo lost his life today in a tragic accident at Franklin Middle School in Wayne/Westland. Jacob was hit by a school bus and sadly succumbed to his injuries. He was only 12 years old. His 13th birthday was in 13 days. Jacob leaves behind two younger sisters, and an older brother.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family pay for funeral expenses.

The GoFundMe message reads:

Hi, as most of you have saw or read, a child lost his life today in a tragic accident at Franklin Middle School in Wayne/Westland. Jacob was hit by a school bus and sadly succumbed to his injuries. He was only 12 years old. His 13th birthday was in 13 days. Jacob leaves behind two younger sisters, and an older brother. We are raising money to give Jacob a funeral, and proper burial. If you are able to help in any way, it will be so much appreciated.
