The Archers’ Graham Blocked has died, the show has confirmed.
In a tweet they wrote:
“Today we remember our friend and colleague Graham Blockey following the sad news of his death.” Editor Jeremy Howe said: “Graham’s Robert Snell was a brilliant creation and a delicious one off. Graham was a complete joy to work with, and we will miss him very much.”…
They announced his passing on Twitter and stated, “Today we remember our friend and colleague Graham Blockey.”
Jeremy Howe, the editor, has made the following statement:
“Robert Snell, the creation of Graham, was both brilliant and delightful in its uniqueness. Working with Graham was a pleasure, and we will miss him greatly.”
In the BBC Radio 4 soap, Mr. Blockey, a real-life physician, portrayed the role of handyman Robert Snell, Lynda Snell’s long-suffering husband.
In 2017, he admitted to his primary care clinic that he had been working undercover as Mr. Snell.
He discussed his path to the Archers role in an interview with Radio 4’s Today show.
Some producer in 1986 suggested, “Oh, I know an actor who is a doctor — let’s audition him” for the role of the new doctor.
“When I auditioned for that role, they said, ‘No, no, no, your voice doesn’t sound like a doctor. However, we also have this additional piece that you may find useful.
He was no longer practicing general medicine.
