Following a brief illness, Raquel Welch, an American actress and global sex icon, passed away at the age of 82, according to her business manager.

She passed away in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning after a “short illness,” according to Steve Sauer, speaking to CNN.
After TMZ broke the news of her death, citing family members, both fans and famous people paid the legendary actress online respects.

In 1966, Welch gained notoriety for her parts in the films Fantastic Voyage and One Million Years B.C.

Although she only had a few speaking parts in One Million Years BC, her deerskin bikini solidified her status as a sex icon.

Welch then went on to enjoy great success as a movie star in the 1960s and 1970s, amassing a fortune.
