The victim of a fatal stabbing that occurred in Pinellas County on Friday afternoon has been named as St. Petersburg, Florida resident Jona Joy Waller.
According to reports, Waller, 34, was found in an alley on the 200 block of 37th Street North after officers were alerted to a report of a woman who was not breathing nearby. When they got there, they discovered she had a number of obvious stab wounds.
Despite attempts to save her, Waller’s injuries from the stabbing caused her to be declared dead at the scene.
The neighborhood has been reassured by authorities that there is no immediate danger to their safety.
Further information has not yet been made public as the inquiry into this tragic incident is ongoing.
