Flowers stopped his media session and had a very rude exchange with Jordan.
The situation did not escalate from there. Raanan walked away from Flowers, who had turned away from reporters following the exchange. Giants head coach Ben McAdoo announced Nov. 7 that Flowers apologized for the incident and noted the team will discipline Flowers, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the NFL determined Flowers did not violate the personal conduct policy during the incident. It’s unclear what led to Flowers’ unhappiness with Raanan. The reporter made multiple references to Flowers’ struggles on his Twitter account during the game, but it’s unclear if the second-year player would have had time to see them before meeting with the media.
While working for NJ Advance Media, Raanan previously wrote about Flowers posting the worst Pro Football Focus grade among first-round rookies last December. Flowers’ failures to live up to expectations are no secret at Giants headquarters, with the former Miami star again struggling in pass protection this season. He has already committed four holding penalties in five games, per the Washington Post.
