Karl Ian Vito Zamoranos, a resident of Carson, California, Dies in a collision Accident.

The Irvine Police Department (IPD) was called to the intersection of Michelson Drive and Mac Arthur Boulevard at approximately 10:35 p.m. last night. The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), with whom we work closely, came to provide a hand.

According to preliminary inquiries, a red Toyota Sienna van was seen heading south on Mac Arthur Street in the direction of Michelson Avenue. A man on a non-motorized scooter rode across Mac Arthur Boulevard’s southbound lanes from the southwest corner and into the intersection proper. The man on the scooter and the van had a nasty collision.

The crash left the scooter’s passenger with life-threatening injuries; he was taken to a nearby hospital but later died from his wounds. Karl Ian Vito Zamoranos, a resident of Carson, California, has been named as the deceased individual.
The van’s driver was reached by police at the site and provided helpful information. The motorist was tested by the police and found to be sober.
