The individual, according to the authorities, Kennard Thomas was discovered at a New Ellenton residence and was then transferred to a hospital where he was subsequently declared dead.
The identity of a man who was found stabbed on Monday morning has been revealed by the Aiken County coroner. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Aiken County deputies and New Ellenton Police were summoned to the 500 block of Camel Street in New Ellenton around 1:30 a.m., according to preliminary information provided by Coroner Darryl M. Ables.
When police officers arrived, they discovered a man inside a house who had been stabbed. The guy, later identified as Kennard A. Thomas, was taken by emergency medical services workers to Augusta University Medical Center for treatment.
He was later declared deceased, though.
The event is still under investigation by the coroner’s office and New Ellenton Police. The motive for the stabbing or any information about a suspect have not been made public by the police.
In Newbery County, an autopsy is planned for Thursday morning.
