Matthew Garrepy died after being hit by a car on Saturday night as he was celebrating his 25th birthday with his friends.

Matthew was tenacious, tough, witty, and sympathetic. All of his admirers wished they could have spoken their final goodbyes.

I am incredibly proud of the incredible young man Matthew had become as a son, brother, fiancé, and friend. He will be sorely missed. He was a fantastic artist who enjoyed playing the guitar and drawing. His smile has a way of illuminating any space. All those who knew and cared for Matthew will feel a void in their hearts as a result of his passing.

A celebration of life for Matthew will take place at our home after the visitation service at Purcell Funeral Home on April 12, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. (Please bring your own chair and any covered dish or finger food you would like. I also hope that there won’t be any alcohol there. The funeral service will take place on April 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

You never know when it will be the final time, so give your loved ones a big hug and tell them how much you appreciate them. Please remember our family through this incredibly trying time and keep them in your prayers.
