A man shot on I-75 northbound in a road rage incident on Saturday was a well-known Cincinnati businessman, sources and the coroner’s office confirmed to WLWT.
Multiple sources confirmed to WLWT Wednesday night that the man shot and killed was 70-year-old Michael Sweeney, a well-known Cincinnati businessman who worked in the automobile industry for more than 40 years.
The Hamilton County Coroner confirmed Sweeney’s death Thursday morning. According to the coroner, Sweeney died Monday.
According to the police report, he was in a Nissan Altima with two women, aged 45 and 57. The names of the women were redacted in the police report.
Law enforcement was dispatched to I-75 North at the 6.2 mile marker Saturday night just after 8 p.m. for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, officers located a victim, later identified as Sweeney, suffering from a gunshot wound involved in the crash.
