The body of a 3-year-old Florida boy Axel Caballero who had been missing since Sunday has been discovered in a retention pond.

It was reported by Spectrum News 13 that the young boy, named Axel Caballero, had gotten lost while playing in his neighborhood in Winter Springs.

A search party located his body hours after he had been reported missing, and an autopsy was being performed to determine the cause of death.

The authorities had previously observed Caballero’s autism and lack of speech. The kid went missing from Ponce De Leon Boulevard.

About 5:00 p.m., the Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a missing child notice for Caballero. The public has also been requested to share any information with law enforcement that could lead to the child’s safe return.

“There is a missing, critically endangered child who is three years old, and we need the public’s assistance in finding her. On unincorporated Winter Springs, in the 1300 block of Ponce De Leon Boulevard, is where Axel Caballero was last seen “The Sheriff’s Office of Seminole County Florida posted on their Facebook page. Axel got lost and was last seen leaving the house while dressed in a green shirt and a diaper.

The authorities dispatched a search team to look about. Authorities eventually asked nearby residents to return to their houses while they brought in drones and search dogs to assist in the search for the missing toddler.

In a later update, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WESH 2 News that a dive team had located the body of the missing youngster in a retention pond near his home.

“Regrettably, we must inform you that members of the SCSO Dive Team discovered Axel dead in a neighboring retention pond. The members of his family have been in our prayers “according to a statement from the sheriff’s office.
