Approximately one mile from the home where a missing guy was last seen, deputies discovered the body of an unidentified Black male in a swampy area along 429, as reported by Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez.
On Thursday, deputies gave an update in the search for Herman McClenton Sr., 73, who has been missing since Thanksgiving.
Lopez further said that matching clothing items to those last seen on McClenton were located near the body.
According to Lopez, the corpse was located after deputies broadened their search beyond the first location.
The coroner’s office is making an effort to positively identify the deceased. Lopez stated that the sheriff’s office has alerted the family in the hopes that it is McClenton. There has been no sign of him in a long time.
Dementia affects McClenton. He and his family were staying at the Emerald Island Resort when he went for a walk and didn’t come back.
Security footage showing McClenton Sr. at the resort was released by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
