Irshaad Ikbal, who went missing about three weeks ago, was found dead in False Creek on Thursday evening, according to a statement released by Vancouver Police on Friday.
Ikbal was discovered dead in the sea close to the Plaza of Nations on Thursday just before six o’clock. He was carried to the shore by Vancouver Police after a passerby dialed 911.
Now conducting an investigation is the BC Coroners Service. Ikbal’s demise has not been linked to a specific cause.
Irshaad Ikbal, 36, a missing man, was searched for and had posters put up across downtown Vancouver on Saturday by teams made up of family members and friends.
Ikbal, 36, was last seen on April 29 about 2:00 a.m. on Pacific Boulevard close to the Plaza of Nations. He got split off from his companions and hasn’t been heard from or seen since.
Ikbal went missing on April 29, and the Vancouver Police Department sent its condolences to his family, friends, and the locals who assisted in the search. The VPD is still looking into Irshaad’s disappearance.
