On Monday morning, two Mississippian parents were en route to New Orleans to look for their daughter who had vanished there late the previous week.

Shawna Halford, 25, was reportedly last seen at a bar on Bourbon Street in the wee hours of March 30.

According to a police press release, “She reportedly told a friend she was going to leave for a walk around Bourbon Street, but she did not return.”

Shawna is a Florence High School alumna who hails from Rankin County, according to her mother Shelly Halford.

Shawna, who goes by the middle name “Rali,” now resides with her grandma in Hickory, Mississippi, and has custody of her 4-year-old son.

According to Shelly, her daughter left Club Oz on the 30th for New Orleans with her uncle and relative. Since that time, she hasn’t been seen.

She has paranoid schizophrenia and bipolar illness, and according to her parents, she hasn’t been taking her medication.

Friends of Shawna have informed her parents that while some of her text messages have been read since she vanished, none of them have gotten a reply.

Her mother admitted to WLBT that she was “a nervous wreck” as she and her spouse headed to New Orleans. She knows absolutely nothing about New Orleans.
