West Virginia (WPVI) — According to police, a shooting at a medical facility in Berks County, Pennsylvania left two people hurt and the shooter dead.
At around 8:30 in the morning, shots were reportedly fired in the rear parking lot of Digestive Disease Associates, located in Wyomissing on the 1100 block of Reed Avenue.
According to the police, Xavier Starks drew a gun and got into a fight with a female employee.
According to authorities, the connection between the shooter and the female victim ended amicably.
Stacie Vereen has since been named as the woman. According to investigators, she was shot in the neck and face.
According to authorities, Travis Ritter, another employee, attempted to take the shooter’s weapon away. He received a gunshot wound to the upper chest.
Vereen has already been transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia after both victims were taken to Reading Hospital.
Starks was discovered dead on the spot.
