Peter Vetri  is in mourning at the passing of Henry, his 2-year-old puppy.

On his friend’s Instagram page, the comedian posted a statement saying, “We lost a key member of the Davidson family.”

Although Davidson, 29, doesn’t use social media, his buddy and colleague Dave Sirus has in the past written comments for fans. Henry was only 2 years old, but sadly he became very ill very quickly, according to Davidson’s Instagram post. “Henry saved our lives when my mom, sister, and I got him at the start of the pandemic.”

“Not sure [I’d] even be around without him,” the post added.

Davidson has been transparent about his struggles with mental illness. In 2018, Davidson disclosed that he had received a borderline personality disorder diagnosis the year before. Following the passing of comedian Bob Saget the previous year, Sirus posted a message from Davidson. Saget reportedly assisted Davidson in “getting through some difficult mental health stuff.”

When Davidson was on “Saturday Night Live,” his mother would email him recordings of Henry watching the program and “smiling and making noise” when Davidson appeared on TV, according to Davidson’s article about Henry.
