Pizza delivery driver Gabriel Stewart, 24, was killed in Oakley, California, while taking a break from delivering pizzas. The incident occurred at 4:52 p.m. in the 1400 block of Rutherford Lane, where officers found him with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said a vehicle pulled up alongside Stewart’s car and someone inside shot him at close range.

The victim’s mother unknowingly watched her son get shot, and police chief Paul Beard said there is no excuse for the incident. The victim’s family witnessed the act and the time of year, making the situation even more sad. Residents of the quiet area of Rutherford Lane and Vintage Parkway say shootings are extremely rare, and a detailed suspect description is not immediately available.
