Following a fatal construction accident at Brockton Hospital on Tuesday afternoon, officials say an investigation is in progress.
According to Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz, emergency personnel were called to a construction site near Quincy Avenue and Libby Street just after 12 p.m. They discovered a man stuck beneath a Bobcat Skid Steer loader that had fallen on him in an 8-foot-deep foundation trench.
Cruz named the deceased worker as Roger Porter, 63, of East Sandwich.
Cruz told reporters during a press conference on Tuesday that Porter and the Skid Steer operator were leveling gravel in the trench when the event happened.
Cruz also mentioned LMA Services, a Stoughton-based construction company.
Additionally, state and federal investigators have been dispatched to the area.
