Jonghyun of SHINee was a well-known K-pop singer-songwriter. On December 18, 2017, the musician passed away.

Kim Jong-hyun, better known by his stage name Jonghyun, was a well-known novelist, record producer, and singer-songwriter who worked for the SM Entertainment firm. For nine years, he served as the lead vocalist for the South Korean boy band SHINee. With the group, he had more than twelve albums that were both Korean and Japanese-language releases. In South Korea, Jonghyun was regarded as one of the best vocalists.

There is a sizable fan base for Jonghyun in several nations throughout the world. However, the passing of SHINee’s Jonghyun in December 2017 rocked the K-pop sector as a whole. On December 18, 2017, the 27-year-old singer was discovered unresponsive in a luxury hotel in Seoul. By using carbon monoxide, the musician died by suicide.

His family started the Shiny Foundation to assist struggling young artists. There are currently four members of SHINee: Onew, Key, Monho, and Taemin.
