Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the Foo Fighters, appears cheerful and healthy in one of the final images shot of him, smiling in the background of a bandmate’s selfie.

Samantha Sidley, a background singer with the Foo Fighters, posted a photo two days ago of herself and fellow touring band member Pat Smear posing for a shot on what seems to be a private jet.

Hawkins stands behind them, his face lit up with a broad grin.

“Bogota,” Sidley captioned the shot, referring to the Colombian capital, where the band was supposed to perform but Hawkins died of a hotel room medical emergency at the age of 50.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin wiped away tears as he spoke about Hawkins during a concert in Mexico just hours after word of his friend’s death surfaced.
