Tyrese Maxey (born November 4, 2000) is an American college basketball player for the Kentucky Wildcats of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
High school career
Maxey played high school basketball for South Garland High School in Garland, Texas. On May 9, 2018, Maxey committed to play college basketball at the University of Kentucky over Southern Methodist University.

College career
In Maxey’s collegiate debut for Kentucky, he scored 26 points in a 69-62 win over first-ranked Michigan State. He had a career-high 27 points in a 78-70 overtime win over rival Louisville on December 28.
National team career
Maxey played for the United States under-18 basketball team at the 2018 FIBA Under-18 Americas Championship. He helped his team win the gold medal.
Personal life
Maxey’s dad Tyrone was the Director of Recruiting for the SMU Mustangs men’s basketball team for the 2017–18 season.
