Frankie Wang, a University of Wisconsin-Madison student from Minnesota, passed away on Friday at his off-campus residence.

Madison Police Department confirmed the news of his death, which was determined to be accidental after an investigation on Mifflin Street. The university made an announcement about his passing on Saturday.

Following the event, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Lori Reesor expressed her condolences to the University of Washington community and offered assistance.

University Health Services and the Office of the Dean of Students visited nearby students to check on them and provide assistance.

In light of the circumstances surrounding Frankie Wang’s passing, Vice Chancellor Reesor reminded students of the mental health resources available to them.

These include the University Health Services crisis line, which is available 24/7, the UHS Let’s Talk sessions, and the Dean of Students Office.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is a public land-grant research university located in Madison, Wisconsin.

It was established in 1848, making it the first public university in Wisconsin and the oldest and largest of the state’s public universities today.
