All About Gallaudet University Former Student Vitali GossJankowski

Vitali GossJankowski (age 34, born in 1989) is a former Gallaudet University student who gained notoriety when he was convicted for his involvement in the events of January 6, 2021, during the Capitol riot. It’s been alleged that he used an Electro-Shock Device to assault Officer Michael Fanone, who suffered a minor heart attack and had to be hospitalized as a result.

In a recent court hearing, Vitali was met with a dramatic confrontation. He refused to comply when a judge ordered him into custody due to threats he had made against federal agents. Reportedly, GossJankowski raised his hands and resisted as officers attempted to place handcuffs on him after the ruling by US District Court Judge Paul Friedman that he should be detained while awaiting sentencing.

During this chaotic scene, he managed to overpower court officers, causing tables and chairs to tumble over in the process. It took the intervention of additional security personnel to finally subdue him. According to a reporter, it required the efforts of at least four US Marshals and FBI staff to hold him down.

GossJankowski’s Antisemitic Messages

Up until October 30, 2023, Vitali GossJankowski was not in custody and was allowed to await his sentencing outside of jail. However, this changed when he was summoned for a hearing.

The reason behind this hearing was the report from prosecutors, who revealed that he had sent numerous anti-Semitic messages to federal agents involved in his case and had posted threats on social media, where he vowed to disclose their personal information.

One of these text messages was directed at the same federal agent who had initially arrested him back in 2021 during the Capitol riot. GossJankowski’s attorney, Matthew Peed, commented that the hearing was a perplexing and emotional experience for his client. He also noted that GossJankowski had conducted himself respectfully during all his legal proceedings.
