Cristiano Ronaldo, the world’s most famous soccer player, and his girlfriend announced on Monday that their baby boy, one of their planned twins, had died.

Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez released a joint statement on social media saying that their “baby boy” had died.

In October, the couple announced that they were expecting twins, and in December, they revealed that they were expecting a boy and a girl.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez requested privacy while grieving, refusing to say how their kid died.

They stated that their daughter is still alive.

“It’s the worst heartache any parent can have,” Ronaldo remarked. “Only our baby girl’s birth has given us the strength to live this moment with hope and happiness.”

Ronaldo is also the father of four other kids, including fraternal twins.

The Portuguese national team, led by Ronaldo, tweeted on Monday, “Muita força, capito,” which means “a lot of strength, captain.”
