Pushing P made its way to the TikTok mainstream in January 2021, thanks to Gunna and Future’s new track ‘Pushin’ P’. P essentially means something positive, to ‘keep it real’. If something is P, it means it’s good.
According to the Urban dictionary Pushing P refers to someone who is “most similar to ‘keeping it player’ which is where someone remains true to themselves and acts in an acceptable manner.” The urban dictionary also provides an example as to the usage of this term: “Pointers in the Patek and my piece, I’m Pushin’ P.”
But Gunna has also explained what the phrase means to him, pointing out that “P” simply stands for “player.” During an appearance on “The Breakfast Club” (via LadBible ), the rapper was asked what the song meant thanks to the ever-growing trend on TikTok.
