Edgar Hansen roses to fame with his appearance on the Deadliest Catch. He served on the F/V Northwestern as the desk boss and was formerly a relief captain.
His initial work at Northwestern was as a cook, but he quickly advanced to a deck position. Later, he managed to establish himself aboard the ship, and rise to the position of chief engineer and deck master.
In addition to resembling his elder brother, Sig Hasen, in appearance, he also had a more laid-back aura, which won over viewers.
Along with having a friendly demeanor, he was also a skilled fisherman, which is likely the most important trait for anyone in a higher position on a fishing boat.
As a beloved member of the “Deadliest Catch” family, he also played a significant role in the program, quickly winning the fans’ love and respect.
Is Edgar Hansen Still On The Northwestern?
Fisherman Edgar Hansen was immediately fired from the main “Deadliest Catch” cast after the alleged harassment.
As DISTRACTIFY reported, Edgar hasn’t completely given up on his family or the F/V Northwestern. Although the fisherman is not on the show officially, he is still working in the background, as seen by several viewers.
The whole crew was seen participating in the kick-off custom of biting the head off a fish in an Instagram video uploaded by his niece, Mandy, in 2018.
And Edgar was also in the video, to which one supporter even inquired: “Edgar is on the boat, then. He wasn’t in the opening episode.”
Some “Deadliest Catch” viewers claim to have observed the previous captain sticking out in recent episodes, lending a hand aboard the storied boat when necessary.
When he first started appearing on “Deadliest Catch,” Edgar Hansen has shown a lot of promise, but bad choices ultimately destroyed his chances of realizing his full potential.
What Is Edgar Hansen Doing Now In 2022?
After the legal troubles, Edgar Hansen decides to maintain a low profile. He was accused of fourth-degree sexually motivated assault.
Since Edgar does not use social media, it will be challenging to find out anything about him in 2022.
Edgar’s admirers are enquiring about his comeback on the show and his current situation in the comments section of his niece Mandy’s Instagram posts.
On the other hand, Sig is comfortable with his daughter taking over the family company, yet he is unconcerned about Edgar’s comeback to Deadliest Catch.
What Happened To Edgar Hansen On Deadly Catch?
In July 2018, Edgar Hansen confessed to physically molesting a 16-year-old girl. According to court documents, he accepted a plea deal in which he was sentenced to a 364-day term of imprisonment with credit for time served.
Per GIZMO STORY, the reality fisherman was required to pay $1,653 in court charges and penalties. Moreover, a sexual deviancy assessment was requested for him.
At the time, he quickly apologized for his actions and announced that he had started therapy to ensure that nothing similar to the incident would ever happen again.
A Snohomish County District Court document states that the unnamed victim told her therapist that Hansen had inappropriately touched her on September 30 at an apartment in Mountlake Terrace, Washington.
In a declaration required by the judge, Hansen acknowledges kissing and groping the victim inappropriately.
