Why did Twitter remove Dr. Jordan Peterson?

The psychologist was allegedly suspended by Twitter for “Violating our guidelines against nasty conduct.”

According to a post purporting to be from Mikhaila Peterson, Peterson’s daughter:

“Wow. @jordanbpeterson received a negative tweet. No more tweeting till the tweet is removed. @elonmusk is currently not a free speech platform.”

Who is Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, a clinical psychologist?

Clinical psychologist, author, and media figure Jordan Bernt Peterson, 60, is from Alberta, Canada.

He wrote the well-known book 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos, which received widespread media attention in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, and France.

According to Peterson, there are 12 rules.

  • Straighten your shoulders as you stand up.
  • Behave as though you have someone else to take care of.
  • Befriend those who have your best interests at heart.
  • Instead of comparing yourself to the useless person you are now, consider who you were yesterday.
  • Never permit your kids to engage in behavior that makes you loathe them.
Before you condemn the world, get your house in order.
  • Choose meaningful pursuits over expedient ones.
  • Tell the reality. Otherwise, don’t lie.
Make the assumption that the person you are speaking to understands something you do not.
  • Children skating should not have their privacy invaded.
  • When you see a cat on the street, pet it.

According to a January article in Newsweek, Peterson appeared to support Joe Rogan after experts published an open letter refuting some of Joe Rogan’s statements on the Covid-19 virus.

In a tweet, Peterson stated: “The King of Misinformation is Joe Rogan. Because he never lies or fabricates anything, so many people prefer him to CNN, ABC, NBC, and CBS @JoeRogan. @Spotify and censors everywhere, leave him alone.”

Jordan Peterson, D.O., previously left Twitter for what reason?

After facing reaction for his disparaging remark regarding the plus-size model on Sports Illustrated’s cover, Peterson made the announcement that he was quitting Twitter.

Peterson added a picture of the model Yumi Nu and the words, “May 16” in his tweet “Sorry. Not attractive. And authoritarian tolerance won’t be able to change that.”

Only a few hours after making the comment, Peterson followed up with a string of tweets announcing his decision to stop using the service after trying it out for three weeks.

He noted that stepping away from Twitter “was a true relief,” but that he had his team continue to monitor his account.

“I started to read and write more,” he continued. A few days ago, I resumed using it, and I’d say that practically immediately, my life took a turn for the worse.

The never-ending barrage of venomous [insults] is definitely something that cannot be experienced anyplace else, he continued.

“I like to follow the people I know, but I believe that the platform’s incentive structure renders it fundamentally and seriously stupid.

To avoid temptation, I instructed my staff to change my password, and I’m now leaving once more. I’ll write an article or create a video if I have something to say.

“Perhaps it would be best to just let it go if the matter is not significant enough to warrant that.”

In a forthcoming piece, Peterson promises to go into more detail on why he left Twitter.

What health conditions did Dr. Peterson have in the past?

Dr. Peterson’s daughter Mikhaila Peterson revealed to The Sun in an interview in 2020 that her father contracted Covid-19 in a Serbian hospital while recuperating from an over reliance on the benzodiazepine anti-anxiety medication.

She stated: “He was given a ton of medications, mostly as a preventative measure, including anti-virals.

“Although he didn’t have a cough and only had a minor fever, they still placed him on everything, which I don’t think was necessary.

Additionally, Mikhaila reported that her father is battling pneumonia once again this year.

“We’ve now taken a step back in his recovery as a result. Simply put, life is bad, and things are bad right now.”

He’ll improve, but he has obviously regressed, and it’s really unfortunate—been it’s a tragedy, she continued.
