The most straightforward reason why I think Law & Order: Organized Crime needs to stick with Angela as the one who ordered Kathy’s death is simply that there are only three episodes left of the first season.
Stabler expected him to say “Richard Wheatley.” Instead, he said Angela Wheatley (Tamara Taylor) really ordered the hit! This was shocking news, especially since Stabler and Angela, Wheatley’s ex-wife, kissed earlier. Stabler also had felt a camaraderie with Angela, since Angela also lost someone she loved, her son. “Stick a fork in me I’m done!!!
The latest Law & Order spinoff, Organized Crime, gave fans the satisfaction of a long-awaited Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) reunion, but sadly, Stabler’s return to the show has been marred by the death of his wife, Kathy Stabler (Isabel Gillies).
In “What Happens in Puglia,” Elliot and Kathy were on a brief trip to New York when Kathy was killed by a bomb that was placed in the couple’s rental car. A devastated Elliot initially thought that the bomb was intended for him because of his work busting organized crime syndicates in Rome.
Who ordered the hit on Kathy?
Organized Crime followed up that bombshell with another shocking twist: Angela Wheatley ( Tamara Taylor) ordered the hit on Kathy.
On the Thursday, May 13 episode of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit spinoff, the culprit responsible for the death of Detective Elliot Stabler’s wife was exposed. For those who may’ve missed it, Stabler’s involvement with the elite organized crime task force came about after his wife Kathy ( Isabel Gillies) died in a car bombing.
This news came about after the task force found new evidence that connected Wheatley’s bodyguard/fixer-turned-informant Bekher ( Ibrahim Renno) to the bomb that took Kathy’s life. Yet, during a meeting with Stabler and Sergeant Ayanna Bell ( Danielle Moné Truitt ), Bekher said Wheatley “didn’t give the order.”. photos.
Law & Order: Organized Crime airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on NBC. (E!, Peacock and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.) Peacock is live now! Check out NBCU’s new streaming service here.

In the end, Det. Elliot Stabler learned who was really behind his wife’s murder. The revelation sent shockwaves throughout the show’s fan base. Late in the episode, titled “An Inferior Product,” Stabler (Christopher Meloni) learned that a forensics team was able to recreate the pipe bomb used to destroy Stabler’s rental car, thereby killing Kathy.
Stabler thought this was going to turn out to be Sacha Lenski , the man who pushed the trigger for the bomb.

What is Angela’s story about Elliot?
Angela’s story looped back to her “rage and grief,” emotions with which Elliot is familiar (especially lately), after the death of her only son. There was a lot, however, about her confession that didn’t add up: I was insane.
It doesn’t take a PhD, something Angela has in a logic-based field like Mathematics of all things, to figure out how he’d go about granting her wish. In some sense, we can see Angela as a victim of her own misplaced trust in accepting Richard’s story. And she’s certainly a grieving mother.

We certainly didn’t expect this as Angela Wheatley seemed determined to get her children away from her ex-husband’s life of crime. Not to mention, Stabler and the mathematics professor shared a kiss in the new episode after connecting over grief.
